Week 35:

Posted by admin | Third Trimester | Wednesday 28 October 2009 4:14 pm

I remember when I went to my doctor she was not happy and wanted me to shift to hospital as soon as possible because the amniotic fluid dropped to 6 and she told me it would not be good to wait another week as the baby’s health level would drop. I had no choice but to accept what was planned by God.
I shifted to the hospital and it was decided that I will be induced at 7:00 pm the next day would be my delivery. Well, I was very excited to see our daughter but on the other hand I was very scared that my baby is healthy as she was coming in 36th week, almost a month earlier.
I was induced at 7:00 pm on 17th September and I was told that I would be taken to the labor room on 18th morning at 6:00. I was given a lung maturity shot so that baby’s lungs are mature enough to survive when born as her estimated weight was 2.1kg. It took an hour in CTG and inducing process. It was painful. It was first experience and I really hoped last too. God must have something planned for us but I just hoped that people who have no complications are far luckier. I was really stressed and really nervous that how would the delivery be. Well, it was not final that it would be normal one or a cesarean. And it was really hard for me to accept this fact that If I would end up in Operation Theater then what would be the point to go under all labor pain and inducing process and its pain the whole night. That night was definitely hard. But my hubby was there and his support really made me strong. Also, family visited which was very supporting too.
The next day, which was 1st day in my 36th week, I was taken to the labor room and I remember how nervous I was. My hubby was with me and my mother-in-law. First I went alone in the labor room. They gave me all the medicines and injected me with antibiotic, when I got settled then my hubby was called and then the waiting period started. It was 9:00 at that time. We chatted, took pictures and just waited when she would arrive. Our eyes were on the clock as the doctor said that approximately it would take 6 to 8 hours. It was long waiting.
I did take epidural but when I was 8 cm dilated it did not work and also, at that stage it took a lot of time to get to final stage of labor. I was unconscious as they gave me pain injections and within one minute you get drowsy and fall asleep immediately. And that is what happened to me, and I remember my hubby was really worried. When finally I had to push the pain did not seemed that bad, in fact they were better and controllable then the before ones. I remember I was really worried before that I might shout and do stupid stuff. But Thank God nothing happened that way.
Everything went good, and our little one arrived at 2:50 pm on Friday the 18th. The first time my hubby and I saw her we had tears our eyes. And we were happy to have her in our world as we had waited long enough to see her. Once her check-up was done my hubby brought her in and she was all dressed up and looked so cute. It felt great to be parent. And I just could not believe that I was a mother of beautiful daughter “inaaya”.

34 week:

Posted by admin | Third Trimester | Saturday 12 September 2009 11:12 pm

“Thirty four weeks yuppie,” these were my feelings as the week started. I was happy that two weeks later I would be entering my 9th month. This week I had my ultra sound appointment and next week with my gynecologist.

I was very excited I remember that I would be getting to see our little one more grown up, and this feeling that soon she would be arriving in a month almost was really good, and even mu hubby was excited that less time was left to see her.

We just could not wait to see her and celebrate those special moments. I remember we now wanted things to be settled and before ninth month starts everything should be ready before our LO came.

the ultra sound was good. everything went well just she said that head is little big but of course within the range and i got relaxed that nothing was serious by Grace of God. i remember returning from ultra sound i red this article on net which was informative

“How Big is the Baby at 34 Weeks Pregnant?

By 34 weeks pregnant your baby is now 4.7 pounds and just shy of 18 inches long!! More so than ever before your baby resembles a miniature being from pregnancy 34 weeks on.

Your Baby’s Growth and Development

Your baby is continuing to grow and fill out during pregnancy week by week. In fact, that is his primary job during pregnancy at 34 weeks and beyond. Not much changes from 34 weeks pregnant and on except your baby is adding valuable meat to his bones. Keep in mind that the weights presented each week in our week to week guide are only estimates. Some babies will weigh in a bit larger and others a bit smaller. Some babies will also be longer or shorter. Every baby is unique.

There are many factors that make estimating the weight of your baby challenging as you continue pregnancy week by week. Many women like to get an estimate about how big their baby is during their prenatal visits. However, most estimates can be as much as 1 to 2 pounds off in either direction.

There are many reasons for this. It is difficult to guess how much the baby will weigh combined with the placenta and amniotic fluid. Even with ultrasound your healthcare providers best estimate may be off. Ultrasound however can be a valuable too to help predict the weight of the baby.

During an ultrasound your healthcare provider will take many measurements to help estimate the baby’s weight and size. Among the more common measurements include the diameter of your baby’s head, the circumference of the head and abdomen and the length of your baby’s femur.

Estimates are more likely to be within ½ to 1 pound when an ultrasound is used.

Changes in You

You probably are getting a little bit uncomfortable by pregnancy week 34. You are also likely to start feeling anxious to meet your newborn baby during pregnancy week 34 or thereafter.

Some women start to worry about whether or not their baby will fit through the birth canal at about this point in time. Generally your healthcare provider will not be able to predict whether or not your baby is too big to fit through your pelvis. This diagnosis is typically made during labor, when your physician can determine how the baby is fitting into your pelvis.

Just because you are petite doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to delivery a large baby. There are many women who are petite that go on to deliver babies 8 pounds or more.

Some women also start wondering when their baby will ‘drop’ sometime after week 34 pregnancy. Dropping is the term that refers to the process whereby your baby’s head enters the birth canal. It generally occurs in first time mothers a few weeks before delivery. In moms who have already given birth, it may not happen until a day or two before labor begins.

When you do drop you should notice a change in your abdomen. You might notice your baby is resting lower. You might also notice that it suddenly becomes easier to breathe, in part because you have ‘lightened’ your load and now have more room available in your upper abdomen.

It is also common to start feeling some pressure in the vagina after the baby drops. Some women worry that their baby might fall out. Talk to your doctor if you feel the pressure is severe. Your healthcare provider can check to see exactly how low the baby’s head is. Usually everything will be fine, you simply need to adjust to your baby sitting a little lower than you are used to.

Thus everything went well. and the week was good.

WEEK 33:

Posted by admin | Third Trimester | Tuesday 1 September 2009 3:45 pm

The passing days now kept reminding me that soon the day would arrive when the baby would arrive and it always made my nerves tense and I felt a panicky effect inside me and I think every woman goes through this. The nights became extremely restless. And I just could not wait to have normal sleep again. Though the movements always kept me relaxed that baby is doing well.

Usually it is said that at this stage of pregnancy if the baby is in cephalic position he/she would stay like this till birth but even if he/she is not cephalic and is breech then would change position by 36th week. And my baby was in cephalic position and it was thought that she might stay this way till end as with time the space for baby is less to move around. And also, the baby grows faster the end months, or the third trimester. Also, I was advised by a friend that if the baby is breech in 36th week ultra then walk can help him/her change its position, but it is not possible in every case as there are few who have do not have enough space and their baby stays in breech position.

Overall the week was great. And it was not though at all just the sleeping part was and walking around, as the heavier I was getting day by day it was difficult moving around but I tried best to get used to it, as soon as possible that I stay relaxed and do not get irritated at any time out of exertion.

Time was flying I guess and I could not believe every day was passing quick and also, I felt really nervous thinking of big day arriving. It was just a little bit scary when I heard different stories from friends and family. I just hoped that God keeps everything good and that everything goes well in the end.

Therefore, everything was as good as I wanted and I spent most of my time at time relaxed and chilled and enjoyed every bit of working and never let myself get bored.

WEEK 32:

Posted by admin | Third Trimester | Tuesday 1 September 2009 3:43 pm

It was now the eighth month and I had been waiting for it. Now I just wanted was to enter into ninth month and see the baby who has been there inside me for so many months. I wanted to feel her now. It felt great to be in eighth month and I just knew that soon time would come when we would be enjoying with the baby.

It is natural to be scared of entering in the circle of motherhood. Things change and everything around changes accordingly and in start I have heard is not that easy. You can end up having exhausted days and nights, and you might feel tired and out energy mostly. But one should keep praying to God that He keeps everything good.

The nights now had been getting tougher and tougher day by day. As my tummy grew it just seemed that by the time I would full term I might not even be able to sleep at all. My nights been really restless and I felt really exhausted in past few days as I was not able to have enough sleep. It just seemed that I would never be able to have relaxing nights again.

I had now kept myself busy cooking as the whole day this was the only activity in which I walked and was sitting or otherwise I have been sitting and working. At least I had no guilt that I was not doing anything at all. And by doing this I kept relaxed that I was doing something which involved walking. And, office has kept me busy throughout and it was really good as I never got time to think of anything else, and my mind was always occupied.

I think it is a healthy way to keep your mind occupied with work, not necessary you should be going to office but in any sort of creative work as that keep the baby’s mind healthy as well. And it would keep you stress free always. During this period baby’s brain is being developed and I believe that if mother is busy in some sort of work then the baby’s mind would also have good effect of it.

The baby movements have been tremendous and by Grace of God the movements itself assured me that the baby was doing well and was healthy. Rest is that next week I would be having my ultra sound and would be seeing her all grown up. Thus, the week was great over all and it felt good that soon the baby would arrive in two months. Just a little time more and everything would change.

31 weeks:

Posted by admin | Third Trimester | Saturday 29 August 2009 12:22 pm

this week started good and there was nothing much just kept myself busy with cooking, writing, office work, and TV. read articles on internet. which i would want to share. its from ivillage.

“At this point you may be quite eager for your pregnancy to end and your baby to be born. Aches and pains, along with feelings of anxiety, may increase at this time. Some women may become frightened by their own lack of maternal feelings. This is a common and natural emotion that many pregnant women experience. For some women, bonding won’t occur until birth — or even later. The final weeks may begin to drag.”

WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH YOUR BABY

Visually, your baby may track moving objects with the eyes. When he or she blinks, the eye’s iris responds to light and dark. The lungs and digestive track are nearly mature, although the last few weeks in-utero are still important for lung development. Your baby is now around 14-1/2 inches head-to-toe, and weighs nearly three pounds, five ounces.

EATING FOR TWO

Here are some quickie dessert ideas which will fulfill cravings but won’t fill you out:

* Enjoy an occasional full-fat, fruit yogurt. It tastes absolutely divine — and it can be more satisfying and healthy than ice cream.
* Make oatmeal cookies and sneak a tablespoon or two of Brewer’s yeast into the recipe.
* Freeze all-natural fruit juice pops to satisfy sudden cravings for sweets.
* Put some grapes into the freezer. They make a yummy, healthy snack that is good for you.
* Reduce the amount of sugar in recipes by substituting concentrated fruit juices and reducing the amount of other liquids added.
* Invest in a juicer. You’ll be amazed at how sweet carrot juice can be!

FACT OF THE WEEK

Breastfeeding is best, and it can be especially important to babies born prematurely. The breast milk produced by mothers of premature infants has an extra-high concentration of sodium, chloride and protein. These small babies more easily digest their mother’s milk than breast milk from a full-term mother or formula. Studies show that when women who have had full-term babies donate their breast milk to the Intensive Care Unit, the babies do less well than when the natural mother’s breast milk is used. Because premature infants fed formula are more susceptible to infection, and cannot benefit from the mother’s antibodies, it is recommended that all mothers strongly consider breastfeeding their premature infants.”

thus, as i wrote had nothing new this week. everything was same, i was pretty much busy. therefore, everything was good, week was great.

week 30:

Posted by admin | Third Trimester | Tuesday 25 August 2009 1:10 pm

Being a parent is something that almost every woman and man on earth would want. Well, there some exceptions as well I agree. I would say my husband and me have been really happy that we have been blessed by such a great full gift by the Grace of God. And as now I am towards the end I really am happy that I am going to have my little angel with us soon.

Well, this week I had appointment with my gynecologist, and she was really happy with my progress. My weight gain was perfect, as well as my HB and GCT. Also, I was give the first TT injection and it hurted as I have always been scared of them and they later give a lot pain to the body. But it was all for my little one to grow healthy and smart. She made my iron tablets dosage once a week and that was really relaxing as because of this tablet I had vomited a lot. She was very happy with the weight of baby and surely said that she was a very healthy one by Grace of God. I was really happy to hear all that. And my next appointment would be after three weeks and I got my next appointment for the ultra-sound in 32 weeks. In which I would know the position and growth of baby. Thus, the hospital part was good.

This, week was easy, just relaxed at home and did do much. Just bought stuff for baby and enjoyed it. But I would not deny one thing that now scares were all over my body because being a parent would be enjoyable or not I really could not think of. I have so much to do and carrying along everything together is I don’t know easy or difficult.

Overall, the week was great and I had a lot of fun and all. I and my hubby both enjoyed the shopping part and now desperately waiting for our baby to arrive.

29 WEEK:

Posted by admin | Third Trimester | Tuesday 18 August 2009 12:42 pm

There has not been much this week as well. i was happy that my vomits were in control as it always took my energy and made me breathless. but the solution i found was really good. two meals a day and in between fruits and at night i had slice of bread with cheese. delicious food and healthy as well.

This week i had my ultra sound and my sonologist said that by Grace Of God our little one was doing great in fact she has been really healthy and was 2.97 pounds. And it felt great to see the baby healthy. Also, i gave tests for my HB and GCT and kept praying that they both come out to be good. when i saw her on the screen during ultra sound she just looked like my hubby and it felt too good to see her as her father it just felt great. on top i could not wait to see my hubby holding our little one.

on babyzone.com article i read about 29th week:

How do you feel comfortable in your own body when you’re not the only one in your body? Get tips to help you strengthen your self concept as you prepare for baby.

I’ve said it time and time again: If I could look as good in a pregnant state as Denise Richards or Brooke Shields, I’d continue reproducing possibly until the end of time. There are many women who love being pregnant. And for each woman who glows with splendor while carrying a baby inside her, there are probably two (at least) who, for various reasons, count the minutes between getting a positive pregnancy test and looking into their newborn’s eyes.

Since having my first daughter five years ago, the consumer industry’s approach toward these precious nine months has undeniably changed. Some Labor and Delivery units rival the Ritz Carlton, and with the myriad of new merchandise on the market aimed at expectant women, one could almost consider getting pregnant simply for the sheer enjoyment of experimenting with them all. Whether it involves a change in perspective or products, there are many approaches pregnant women can take to ensure that they feel great about themselves—inside and out—while expecting.

The Truth

What many women forget—as they stare in disbelief at the cover of a magazine portraying an expectant celebrity eight months along and counting but looking no more than four—is that celebrities have access to dietitians, personal trainers, and personal shoppers whose job it is to keep them trim, toned, and magazine-cover ready. Note: As you work to put your eyes back in their sockets and close your mouth while balancing the aforementioned magazine on the newly grown shelf just below your chest, please don’t forget about airbrushing. Add to that the likely possibility that four minutes or so after that celebrity walks in the front door with her new baby, her trainer pops up in front of her with cartoon-like enthusiasm, a protein shake, and a reminder that he’ll meet her in six weeks (or less) for a two-hour run, 1,000 crunches, and some Pilates.

Rest assured, there are a few pregnancy pitfalls that even celebrities can’t avoid. Stretch marks, excessive weight gain, and swelling can all be part of the process depending on the way in which one’s body responds. As fabulous as Demi Moore looked on the cover of Vanity Fair in 1991, it was rumored in many a magazine that even she lives with stretch marks. The gossip magazines had a field day when Kate Hudson gained a rumored 75 pounds during her pregnancy. However, she appeared quite happy in nearly every picture taken of her during this time, lending more than an ounce of credibility to the idea that how you feel about yourself while pregnant is what it’s all about.”

thus everything went good. and was just excited to have the baby and so wanted her to be with us now.

28 WEEKS:

Posted by admin | Third Trimester | Tuesday 11 August 2009 5:30 pm

This week was great. Everything was well. NOW I was in third trimester.I had been feeling the LO’s kicks a lot lately and it was just amazing. Also, I was waiting for the next week when as I had ultra-sound as well as my GCT and HB tests. Just couldn’t wait any longer.

These days I searched a lot regarding my pregnancy over internet. I have been so concerned to stop my vomits that I had to search. Here is interesting article.

“How Big is the Baby at 28 Weeks Pregnant?”

By 28 weeks pregnant your baby is 14.8 inches or more! She weighs in at about 2.2 pounds during pregnancy at 28 weeks!
Your Baby’s Growth and Development

Up until now if you were to look at your baby’s brain during your pregnancy week by week it would appear smooth. By about 28 weeks pregnant however this changes, as the brain starts to mature and form grooves that we commonly associate with a human brain. Your baby may also be growing longer hair on her head by pregnancy at 28 weeks, though many babies will come out bald at birth. Others will be born with lovely locks of hair that will fall out and even change color some time after delivery.
Your baby should also be sprouting eyelashes by pregnancy 28 weeks, which will blink repeatedly if you were to shine a bright light on your belly.

Your Growth and Development
By pregnancy 28 weeks your uterus measures at least 3 inches above your bellybutton, or is approximately 28 cm tall. You should be steadily gaining weight from pregnancy week 28 and beyond.

Changes in You
After tracking your pregnancy week by week for so long, you are probably anxious to begin the third trimester, which is just a week away. Women who have tested Rh-negative will receive an injection of a substance called RhoGAM during week 28 of their pregnancy. This substance will protect you from becoming sensitized should your baby’s blood mix with yours during pregnancy. This one injection will actually provide protection through the end of your pregnancy up until delivery.

Though your baby only has 2 to 3 percent body fat by twenty eight weeks pregnant and weighs only slightly more than 2 pounds, by now you may have gained as much as 24 pounds. Remember that all this weight helps cushion and nourish your newborn baby until the time of delivery.

It might help to massage your legs often from 28 pregnancy weeks on out during your pregnancy. Many women experience leg cramps, itching and swelling at this point in their pregnancy. After this week your health care provider will likely change your appointment schedule from once per month to once every two weeks. This will typically continue through week 36, when you will start having weekly appointments until the time of delivery.

If no one has suggested a baby shower yet, someone likely will in the next few weeks. A baby shower is a wonderful way to welcome your pending arrival and spoil yourself a little bit in the last few weeks of your pregnancy. Some women find themselves with not one but several offers for a baby shower. If that is the case suggest several of your girlfriends or family members work together to throw you a one of a kind baby shower. There is nothing wrong with having co-hosts or several helpers involved in a shower.
You might also think about stocking up for some supplies for the nursery at this point in time. You never know when your little one might decide to make their appearance into the world, and should they come early you don’t want to find yourself completely empty handed. This is a great time to set up the nursery because you are still small enough to get around relatively easily (but remember no heavy lifting!). Some women prefer not to have a shower or set up the nursery until the baby actually arrives. This works very well too, particularly if you invite some people over to help set up the nursery for you while you are recuperating from delivery.

Many women decide to set up a nursery with a specific theme or color scheme. One of the best parts of having a baby in fact is deciding just how to decorate the nursery. There are literally dozens of colors and ideas to choose from.”

Now days I have become really restless and I get out of breath also. But good thing about this week was that I had control over my vomits. I now take 2 meals a day and fruits are maximum. I would suggest all mothers who are facing this problem to carry on with this routine.

I read something good over baby centre.

“How your life’s changing:”

You’re in the home stretch! The third and final trimester starts this week. If you’re like most women, you’ll gain about 11 pounds this trimester.

At this point, you’ll likely visit your doctor or midwife every two weeks. Then, at 36 weeks, you’ll switch to weekly visits. Depending on your risk factors, your practitioner may recommend repeating blood tests for HIV and syphilis now, as well as doing cultures for chlamydia and gonorrhea, to be certain of your status before delivery. Also, if your glucose screening test result was high and you haven’t yet had follow-up testing, you’ll soon be given the 3-hour glucose tolerance test. And if the blood work done at your first prenatal visit showed that you’re Rh negative, you’ll get an injection of Rh immunoglobulin to prevent your body from developing antibodies that could attack your baby’s blood. (If your baby is Rh positive, you’ll receive another shot of Rh immunoglobulin after you give birth.)

Around this time, some women feel an unpleasant “creepy-crawly” sensation in their lower legs and an irresistible urge to move them while trying to relax or sleep. If this sensation is at least temporarily relieved when you move, you may have what’s known as restless legs syndrome (RLS). No one knows for sure what causes RLS, but it’s relatively common among expectant mothers. Try stretching or massaging your legs, and cut down on caffeine, which can make the symptoms worse. Ask your caregiver if you should try iron supplements, which can sometimes relieve RLS.”

Thus, this week had same routine and nothing new. It ended off very well By Grace of God.
